Recitation of the Rosary will be held on July 8, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Howe Mortuary & Crematory, 439 Coffman St, Longmont, Colorado. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 323 Collyer Street, Longmont, CO.

Although I was unable to visit in person the past year or two, I made sure to call her regularly. We would talk about her childhood, our family’s childhood, sharing memories. The last time I talked to her I called and wished her “Happy Birthday!” She chuckled a little and said, “Thanks, honey, but I think that was a few months ago.” We had a good laugh. She was right! So, I wished her happy birthday two times in one year.

Being out of state, I didn’t seem Mom very often in the past years. But when she was still living in Boulder and I would come to visit, we usually spent a few hours driving around the city and surrounding areas. She loved that. She loved just watching the scenery go by and talk about how the area had changed. We could reminisce about Boulder was when we were kids and how different it was now. Visit the Table Mesa area — our old stomping grounds — and remember this or that. We’d stop up at Chautauqua, and once had a little picnic there. It was a fun time for both us, and I think it helped us stay close, even though we were miles apart.
